Cookies and the choice stored on your device

What cookies are
A cookie is a small file a website asks your browser to keep, so a later visit can recognise a preference or a session. Local storage is a related place in the browser where a site can keep a short note. Both stay on your device unless a server is given the same information.
What this site uses
Aware Helixway stores one preference in local storage under the name below. It records whether you accepted or rejected cookies. Rejecting does not lock any page, form, or session description. The site does not run an analytics product and does not set an analytics cookie.
Essential means the preference that remembers your choice so the banner does not ask on every page. Analytics means measurement of visits by a third party. We do not use the second category.

Third-party requests
Pages load type from Google Fonts. That request goes to Google's servers and can reveal your IP address to Google when the type files are fetched. We do not receive a copy of that request. Google Fonts, in the form we use, is a font download rather than an analytics cookie set by Aware Helixway. If a font host sets its own cookie, that cookie is controlled by that host, not by our banner.
We do not embed advertising, social pixels, or remote photographs.
How to refuse or remove the preference
Choose Reject on the banner. The banner closes and the site remains usable. To remove a choice already stored, clear site data or local storage for aware-helixway.click in your browser settings, then reload. You can also block local storage and cookies for this domain in the browser. The banner will appear again on later visits if the stored choice is gone.
Browser makers document this in their own help: look for privacy, cookies, or site data. Blocking third-party cookies in the browser will not break the reading room pages.
If you block storage or fonts
If local storage is blocked, we cannot remember your answer, so the banner returns. Pages, forms, and telephone details still work. If font files are blocked, the browser uses its own serif fallback. The words stay the same.
